Whoopsie!

Ok.. so I haven't posted since Wednesday... my bad..

I do want to write about a great Girl Scout event both of my troops attended on Friday night. Another troop leader ran a service event that was just awesome. It was for soldiers stationed overseas. She provided canvas stockings for each girl to decorate. Each girl also made a card which was placed in the stocking before it was stuffed with items like granola bars, gum, peanut butter crackers, individual powdered drinks mixes for water bottles, and candy. TONS of candy. She managed to collect about 100 POUNDS of candy... all donated by local people. Amazing. I'd love to show pictures but, I cannot. Trust me when I tell you - this was an amazing event.

I am proud of my girls.

The girls are heading back to school after being off all last week. Lord knows I love them but oh MYGOD. A week of them together was not the prettiest. They freakin' BICKER non-stop. I hate being a referee!
So, although I had to wake up at 545am (EW!), at least Eldest got out the door without TOO much 13 year old drama. Still waiting on the 9 year old - she leaves at 720am.

My neighbors went to Disney last week and just got back Sunday at 1am in the morning. She must be exhausted! They have one daughter, who is good friends with Youngest. She stopped over yesterday with a gift for Youngest. Here is what it was:

Holy crapsicle Batman! Looks like winter is fast approaching. Brrrr! Time to pull out the winter coats and gloves.

I shipped Eldest off to a sleepover at a friend's house where there will be not only Eldest and her friend, but three MORE 13 yr old girls. That mom is a saint. I should have sent over a bottle (or two) of wine.

Too bad I popped it open instead! Yum!

Boooyah! It's Friday!

The kids go BACK to school on Monday, thank goodness. We've had some nice quality time but, enough is enough. The constant bickering is making me CRAZY! GAH!

I've been trying to blog a little bit every day. I am such a Facebook junkie - it's LIKE blogging but there's no hiding behind the blog. EVERYONE knows who you are on Facebook, not so much with blogging, if you choose. I am just trying to keep them separated.

In football news - STEELERS baby! Oh yeah! We're playing at Denver on Monday night. Go STEELERS! We want another one of these:

Just popping on to say "hi!" from my mother's doctor's office in NYC. They are very efficient around here.... having already whisked her away for xrays. Pay no mind to the fact she brought her own MRI, PET, & CAT scans...

Well - Rosie is still getting used to us. We've had her since Friday. She's not a big fan on being cuddled, which is totally bumming me out! But, I am trying to be calm and not too grabby with her. She is all about the treats. Every time I touch a plastic bag that makes that crinkly sound, she squeaks and chirps. It's kinda cute!

I managed to ditch Youngest at a friend's house for a playdate. She was making me C R A Z Y today. We have the week off from school thanks to our local school district, the NJEA and the teachers convention. Last year we were in Florida! For two WHOLE weeks! This year - we're home. Not in Florida and certainly not at Disney ::sigh::

Bummer.

Well - I've got to get back to fixing this dump of a blog. I've got no moolah to pay for upgrades but yet - have no clue how to change my template. Does anyone use MT anymore? Anyone feel sorry for me and want to fix it free of charge? :end shameless begging:

Eldest is in eight grade. EIGHTH grade people. Holy crap. I started blogging when she was in *kindergarten*. On that note, looks like my eight year blogaversary will be occuring on 12/9/09. Wow.

Youngest is in FOURTH grade. She is doing awesome in school. In fact, she was just elected to be Peer Mediator for her class.

Did I mention that Chris Christie won the race for NJ Governor? Don't let us down Mr. Christie.

I honestly believe that Facebook has placed a HUGE dent into blogging. I know I spend more time on FB than reading bloggers. But, I do read a lot of bloggers who are also on FB.

I will be going into NYC tomorrow with my mom so she can see a specialist at HSS. Cancer freakin sucks people.

Very dear friends of the family had to put their beloved dog to rest. My deepest sympathies are with them. {{{hugs}}}

Money is soooo tight right now. Christmas is going to be an enormous stretch for us. That sucks. It really does.

Still looking for a job. I am working but it pays practically nothing. But - there is possibility for a full-time position. So, I am hanging in there.. barely.

Good news! We got a guinea pig. Her name is Rosie. We inherited her from another family who was unable to keep her due to allergies. Isn't she adorable?

I am going to make Husband help me update this blog.. I hate the look of it.. Unfortunately, the one person I "hired" to "help" me with an overhaul screwed me.. That was about a year ago and I am still pissed. I've got all these extra templates and skins stored all over the place. I don't even know where to begin!

I'm ok ::deep breath::

Eldest is heading out to a pool party today. Her social life is rapidly expanding.. thank goodness! I hope the weather holds out for the party. Here in NJ, we have had the most incredible amount of rain over the past month. I have never seen such gloomy weather. The pool is maybe 70 degrees. The girls have been dying to go swimming. Husband and I finally stabilized the pool - again - and cleaned it last night. Youngest is having a friend over this afternoon and I think they are going to brave the pool. Brrrr! Too cold for my old bones!

More to say.. but maybe later...
